Tesla has produced a large number
of superconducting magnets and associated cryogenic vessels for use in high-energy
physics, and our facilities include a cryogenic test capability.
Currently,
Tesla is manufacturing over 3000 superconducting magnets of 4 different types for
CERN’s new accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider.
Tesla
is also supplying 20 3m planar coils for the Wendelstein 7X Stellarator
fusion experiment being built in Greifswald, Germany.
At
the other end of the scale, Tesla can supply laboratory-scale cryomagnets and
cryostats, at fields of up to 9 Tesla. These coils are built to order, and they
can incorporate shielding coils if required.
